The National Award of Merit is presented to a CSC member(s) to recognize their contributions to the well-being of CSC. All Board Members are entitled to nominate or endorse the nomination of a member whom they believe has demonstrated exceptional effort, zeal, effectiveness and time expended to the well-being of CSC beyond that of a Chapter Award of Merit. The contribution to CSC by the nominee need not necessarily be confined to the current year alone and can result from contributions and consistent effort over and above that which might be expected under a normal obligation to the Association.
The Chapter Award of Merit recognizes the contribution to the advancement of CSC by an individual member at the Chapter Level. The Chapter Award of Merit acknowledges a CSC member's dedication to Chapter programs such as monthly meetings, education offering as well as leadership on Chapter committees.
The President's Award is presented to members who have provided exceptional support, guidance, mentorship and assistance to the President during their tenure. The recipient of this award is selected by the Association President and acknowledged at the President's Ball.
The President's Chapter Awards encourage and recognize active, forward looking chapters. It would be preferred if all Chapters earned the necessary points to receive the Award. The award is based on a calculation in six categories which take into consideration, variations such as chapter size and geography. The categories are: chapter growth, chapter meeting attendance, financial contribution to the Association, Conference attendance, education programs and the chapter newsletter.
This award recognizes CSC members who sponsor new CSC members. By sponsoring a new member, it sets out a clear message to people in the construction industry that our members believe in CSC's mission and goals. Furthermore, demonstrates that as a member, one has benefitted and continues to benefit from being a CSC member and you want others to benefit as well. New members bring new ideas, new energy and help us to remain a strong, relevant part of the design + construction community. We all win when new members are recruited. To qualify for this award, a member must sponsor a minimum of three new members, during the membership year.
This award recognizes outstanding achievements by a Chapter towards fostering the objectives of CSC. Evaluation by the President, Past President, and Executive Director is based on the following points of chapter activity: Membership Growth; Chapter Communications; Chapter Program and Activities; attendance at meetings; professional development opportunities; financial contribution; spirit and effort; participation in local design build industry and CSC committee involvement.
Eureka Club Awards are given to those who sponsor at least three new members during the year. As important as these fresh faces are, having long-term members is also critical, as it ensures continuity and serves as an example of passion and service over the decades. Fortunately, CSC has no shortage of veteran volunteers, with several to receive Longevity Awards.
The F. Ross Browne Award is presented by the publishers of CSC's Construction Canada magazine to the author(s) deemed by the publisher to have written the best magazine article during the previous publication year. The award recipient is selected based on the article's originality, relevance and style. F. Ross Browne, FCSC, Life Member, was a CSC Past President and a feature column writer for Construction Canada magazine.
The Programme Director's Awards are presented to an individual CSC member or a group of members or other individuals to recognize their significant contribution to a CSC Program. These awards are presented at the discretion of the Program Directors
The Life Membership Award is the highest accolade that CSC can bestow on an individual. It is presented in recognition of outstanding service, dedication, support and commitment to the Association and the design + construction community.
