Announces Retirement
At the CSC 2025 Annual General Meeting, Executive
Director Nick Franjic, CAE, announced his intention to retire prior to the 2026
AGM, following more than three decades of dedicated service to the association. With Nick’s planned departure, CSC has officially
launched the search for its next Executive Director to lead the organization
into its next chapter.

About CSC
Construction Specifications
Canada (CSC) is a national not-for-profit association that has been supporting
Canada’s construction community since 1954. CSC is dedicated to educating,
connecting, and leading the design and construction community to achieve
excellence in project delivery and represents over 1,600 members from 17
chapters across the country, including specification writers, architects,
engineers, manufacturers, contractors, building owners, and suppliers.
With the planned retirement
of our current Executive Director, we are seeking an innovative, strategic, and
collaborative leader to guide the organization into its next chapter.
The Opportunity
Reporting to the President
and accountable to the Executive Council and Board of Directors, the Executive
Director (ED) plays a vital leadership role within CSC. This is both a
strategic and hands-on position—part connector, part facilitator, and part
operational leader. The ED will:
- Support a
volunteer-based governance model
- Provide visionary and
operational leadership
- Promote membership
engagement and growth
- Strengthen CSC’s voice
within the construction industry by enhancing partnerships and external
relationships
- Ensure operational and
financial management excellence
- Champion innovation in
education and professional development
Candidate Profile
Education
& Experience
- Degree in business
administration or related field or experience.
- Minimum 5 years in a
senior management role; experience with non-profits or associations is
preferred.
- CAE designation
(Canadian Society of Association Executives) is an asset.
